In the realm of Android performance, the release of the Xiaomi 14 series has sparked a significant shake-up in AnTuTu’s latest October 2023 Android performance rankings. Unveiling the world’s only Snapdragon 8 Gen3 models for the month, Xiaomi’s new series stormed to the top positions, claiming first and second place with scores of 1,997,427 and 1,985,014 points respectively.

AnTuTu’s rankings distinguish themselves by showcasing average scores achieved under regular operating conditions, giving users a more realistic expectation of device performance. The Xiaomi Mi 14 series exhibited a staggering lead over the third-place holder, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro, boasting a substantial 300,000+ points difference.

This shift isn’t surprising, given the significant advancements embedded in the Snapdragon 8 Gen3, notably in GPU performance, promising a markedly improved gaming experience for users. Nevertheless, the Xiaomi 14 series might not hold its lead for long. Other major manufacturers have announced their imminent releases of Snapdragon 8 Gen3 flagships, with at least four models poised for launch this month, hinting at a potentially short-lived reign for Xiaomi’s current dominance.

In the sub-flagship category, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 continues its unchallenged supremacy, outpacing various Dimensity 8200 and 8100 models. Yet, limited by cost considerations, only the Realme GT Neo5 SE and Redmi Note 12 Turbo currently embrace this chipset.

The standings for the sub-flagship category in AnTuTu’s October rankings are as follows:

  1. Realme GT Neo5 SE – Average score: 11,546,600
  2. Redmi Note 12 Turbo – Average score: 1,152,325
  3. iQOO Z8 – Average score: 962,629

With continuous and rapid progress observed among this year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen3 flagships, the dynamic landscape of Android performance remains in flux, promising intriguing competition among tech giants vying for the top positions in AnTuTu’s rankings.
